The PULSE POWERTM Battery
Charging System
PULSE
POWERTM is a Nickel
Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery charging
system for cellular telephones, camcorders, two-way radios and
selected portable printers utilizing the latest in American
microprocessor technology. It was developed in 1992 to eliminate
the problems (e.g. voltage depression, a.k.a "memory
effect") associated with incorrect or incomplete charging of
Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries.
Depending upon the operating conditions under
which you use your wireless device, PULSE POWERTM provides greatly
extended battery life. With batteries typically rated as 300-400
charging cycles (but realistically getting only 150-200 cycles),
you should enjoy anywhere from 1000-2000 recharge cycles with a PULSE POWERTM charger.

During every second of fast charge, quiet time
battery data acquired by the precision 13-bit delta-sigma A-to-D
converter is supplied to the on-chip 16-bit microprocessor which
calculates the battery's exact state of charge.
